Full Level 2 qualifications

Learners who do not already have a full level 2 qualification are entitled to study a first full level 2 qualification free of charge.

A full level 2 qualification is loosely defined as a qualification that is equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grades A* - C. A learner who already has 5 GCSEs at grade A* - C, or an NVQ at level 2 or above, or any qualifications above level 2 is not entitled to a free full level 2 course under the government level 2 learner entitlement scheme.

Learners taking a technical certificate with an appropriate NVQ pay for one course only, if they do not qualify for fee remission or a free level 2.

Learners taking NVQs must complete an NVQ application pack and should be given the following documents:

• NVQ Learner Application Form (PDF*, 30K)
• Full Level 2 Declaration Form (PDF*, 96K)
• Full Level 3 Declaration Form (PDF*, 96K)
• Enrolment Form (additional form if also completing Tech Cert)
• Course Application pack (if relevant) - check relevant page for the course
