Havercroft & Ryhill Community Learning Centre is one of the community based centres in the District with a comprehensive adult education programme. The Centre offers a range of facilities including community activities, community workspace units, crèche and snack bar.
The Centre offers a variety of courses to meet the needs of individuals. The Centre hosts a mix of courses from craft/hobby type courses to courses designed to equip people with the skills to find work or change the type of work they are doing. The 30 plus courses on offer range from Computers for Beginners and other level computer courses, Spanish, French and Italian Conversation, Art, Health and Social Care Levels 2 and 3 to Maths, English and Parchment Craft with new courses being added on a regular basis. All courses take part in a friendly and informal setting.
Havercroft & Ryhill Community Learning Centre has enabled many learners to gain qualifications and to apply for jobs as well as giving learners the opportunity to meet new people, build up their confidence, train and learn new skills. The Centre looks forward to continuing to work with Wakefield Adult Education Service in providing an essential service to the local and wider communities in the future.
